OPACAL – Pre-Mixed Calcium Hydroxide Paste

Opacal, developed by PD, is a radiopaque, creamy, ready-to-use calcium hydroxide paste for temporary root canal dressing. Where temporisation between appointments is required, calcium hydroxide paste is the standard material of choice — eliminating remaining microorganisms and helping prevent reinfection. Its properties derive from its alkaline pH, and the usual duration of temporisation is one to three weeks.

High radiopacity. At over 300% of dentine radiopacity, Opacal is one of the most radiopaque calcium hydroxide pastes available, allowing easy identification and efficient follow-up.

Rapid ionic release. Opacal is an aqueous, non-setting material, giving rapid ionic release and effective action in short treatment procedures. The paste is also easily removed.

Precise delivery. The combination of ready-to-use paste and Luer Lock application tips allows the paste to be delivered into the root canal anatomy safely and precisely. The flexible tips are designed to reach the desired zone across different canal anatomies, and the finger grip plate gives closer control over handling and delivery.
